Peru Warmikuna Green Coffee Beans
In 2010, a handful of women coffee producers joined the Volcafe Way cluster in Junin´s coffee growing region. Twelve years later the Warmikuna cluster was born.
The Warmikuna Cluster is comprised of 55 thriving women who have followed Volcafe Way agronomic standards and have demonstrated a leading role in the coffee business.
Six business model farms are currently spearheading the profitable sustainability and regenerative practices. These farms act as showcases through which other producers can see proper technical training in action.
The name Warmikuna means ´women´ in Qechua, one of Peru´s oldest languages. The second most widely spoken language in Peru, Quecha was the language spoken by the Incas and is still used throughout several countries in South America.
Junin is one of Peru’s most biodiverse regions and the bridge between the Andes mountain range and Amazon rainforest. The coffee-producing department connects several habitats and allows vast cultural and natural wealth to coexist.
